Use the registered CFA curriculum first. Add Schweser for condensed self-study or UWorld for additional explanation-led questions only when that addresses a specific study gap.
Current exam coverage
Level I concepts, formulas and ethics assessed with three-choice multiple-choice items. Select the curriculum and product edition for the intended exam year and window. Current packages offer 2026 and 2027 variants; this review does not treat them as interchangeable.
CFA Institute specifies 180 multiple-choice questions across two 135-minute sessions, with three choices per item. Full-session timing and broad topic coverage matter alongside short quizzes.
The Learning Ecosystem gives registered candidates the curriculum, question practice, planning tools and official mocks. Access is tied to registered candidate status; it is not a free public course.
Schweser’s Essential package is a digital self-study suite with condensed notes, practice and exams. Its package page separates premium review sessions and other higher-tier components.
UWorld lists explanation-led Level I questions and topic analytics. Its Core and Advanced tiers differ: videos and mock exams are not automatically part of every QBank or Core purchase.
CFA Institute’s optional Practice Pack adds questions, earlier additional mocks and a Prometric mock. Check included official resources and release timing before paying for overlapping assessment products.
Schweser lists Essential at $799, with exam year/window selection required. UWorld’s standalone QBank term and total were not verified in this review; the $399 Core course is a different product.
The included Learning Ecosystem is recommended first to establish the official scope. Schweser is an optional route for candidates wanting condensed notes; UWorld is an optional route for more worked questions. A candidate satisfied with the official explanations may need neither. No outcome evidence establishes that purchasing more resources improves the result.
Who this comparison helps
Registered Level I candidates deciding whether their remaining need is concise content review, additional questions or timed official assessment.

Question-level mapping to every current learning outcome was not audited.

Provider descriptions may change. Unknown prices remain unverified; a free sample is not treated as a complete free course. This guide compares the listed alternatives and does not claim to include every seller.
